“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” – Maya Angelou

My first time experiencing a transformational storytelling event was in 2015 and it changed my life!! As I watched a good friend of mine Kim Andrews share her heartbreaking, yet empowering story of being with her father during his transition and their connection together during this time, was just brilliant. I experienced something so profound that I started to feel like I had a story to tell. I could feel this story welling up inside of and wanting and needing to get out.
That night at the event, my soul raised up and I knew this was what I had to do. I had to tell my story, I had to do what she just did. It just made sense, it felt right, although right after I said this to her, my brain was like girl what did you just do. Are you crazy!
So in March of 2016, I did my first transformational storytelling. I stepped out on to the stage in Dallas, TX in front of 40 family, friends and strangers and let me tell you it was the most exhilarating, wild, scary, empowering and healing ride I have ever been on. There was even a moment before they introduced me that I could see me walking off stage and not coming back, but I realized I had to stand in my truth, share my story with the world and heal myself and the listeners as well. It truly is what my soul needed to do and what other souls were waiting for.
So my friends, I am doing it again. On October 24th, 2020 we will be showcasing our Standing In Truth: A Storytelling Experience with a live discussion and Q&A on line. I would love to invite you to be part of this amazing experience and journey. W Whew, yes I am starting to feel those little nervous butterflies in my stomach as I am writing this now as well, but one thing I know for sure after doing this, is that "telling my story is like freeing the pages of my soul" and it is also very healing for the listeners. I have shared below some benefits of a being a listener of the story as.
